Market Drivers:

U.S. - China Trade Talks

- The U.S. and China had finally agreed to the Phase One agreement after a contentious 18-month trade war

- China agreed to billions of dollars in agricultural purchases from the U.S.

- The U.S. would keep the 25% tariffs on USD250 bn of Chinese imports, but would reduce tariffs on USD120 bn in products to 7.5% from 15%

- The tariff reduction will take effect 30 days after the agreement is signed.

- The two countries plan to sign the partial accord in the first week of January

 

Japan Flash Purchasing Managers' Index (December)

- Manufacturing PMI edged down to 48.8 from a final 48.9 in November

- The index stayed < 50.0 for an eighth month

- New export orders shrank for a 13th month, though they showed signs of bottoming out

- Services PMI (December)

- Came in at 50.6 from the previous month’s 50.3, improved for a second month

- Composite PMI was steady from the previous month’s final of 49.8

MARKET NEWS

-PT BUMI Resources Tbk. ("BUMI") through its subsidiary PT Kaltim Prima Coal ("KPC") conducts a Mine Water Utilization program. This program is carried out in order to support the supply of raw water for clean water to meet the needs of WTP (Water Treatment Plant), better known as Processing Installation Water (IPA) Kudungga.

-BNBR has prepared a business plan and expansion that will be carried out by its subsidiaries. Through PT Bakrie Autoparts (BA), BNBR plans to expand in the passenger vehicle market and raft components. In addition, Bakrie Autoparts also plans to increase production capacity utilities and reach the passenger vehicle market.

-PT Gihon Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (GHON) plans to aim at increasing telecommunications tower leasing by 15% to 20% to around 1,150-1,200 tenants in 2020. To smooth out the business plan, GHON prepares capital expenditure (capital expenditure) with an estimated Rp 150 billion to Rp 200 billion.
